I would love for you to join me. Mine is a scrappy quilt in my favourite country fabrics. But you could do whatever you would like. The design is a border quilt, so we'll start with a centre and then add a new border each month until we have a quilt that is the size you want. You can stop at any point along the way. It's all up to you! I'm also in the midst of learning how to do a PDF file, so if that goes according to plan, you should be able to print off the instructions.
I took pictures while I was sewing the centre so I'm hoping to have pictures for each section but I'll see how that goes for now.

Sounds very interesting to me. I am going to try and follow along. I have so much on the go right now. Tks.

ReplyDeleteHi Darlene,
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower of Kaaren's and found your blog. I love the colours of your peak at the block of the month. I'm a member of the local quilt quild where we do a block of the month, but do not often get there in the winter, as we live quite a distance from town, so I'm hoping to follow yours. Thanks for putting it on your blog, as well as giving it to your guild. Enjoy your meeting.
Dianne
I love scrappy :-) quilts too. Have not done a mystery quilt yet. I will check back on Friday.

ReplyDeleteCan't wait for the fun to begin!
ReplyDeleteHi Darlene, Kaaren sent me. I've never made a mystery quilt but I have thought about it so maybe now is the time to do it. I generally work in brights so that is what most of my scraps are. I'm sure that I can use my bright colours up. I was thinking of organising something along the same lines for my patchwork group this year so this should be a great learning experience. Thank you. Vicki

Hi Darlene, another follower of Kaaren's blog generally I just read along but very much enjoy everyone's blogs. I love mystery quilts & country fabrics. This sounds like it will be very interesting and fun. May help use up some of the fabric stash that just seems to grow with a life of its own! Thank you for sharing will be following along - Linda from New Jersey, USA.
ReplyDeleteSounds great Darlene, Found you on Kaaren's blog. I love scrap quilts. Carole from Arizona
ReplyDeleteHi Darlene, I also found you on Kaaren's blog (Painted Quilt) and I'm so glad I did. There are so many fun quilt alongs going on and I can't possibly keep up with them all, but I do want to try to keep up with yours. Mainly because from the very tiny tease you gave us, LOL, it looks like it is going to be a project I can make from my stash and I do love scrappy quilts! I have a TON of Thimbleberries fabrics from several BOMs, including coordinating background fabrics that I have held on to, along with backing enough for a very large throw sized quilt, so I'm all set. Well...now that I've rambled on, I'll finish up with, "count me in". Thanks so much for offering it to those of us outside your guild :o) ... Hugs from Nancy Jo in the US...
ReplyDeleteSent here by Kaaren too! I will try to follow along because I am sure it will be fun and wonderful!
ReplyDeleteDarlene, found through Karen's blog and love mystery quilts - especially scrappy quilts.I am going to try to follow along. Thank you for sharing. Jan in MS.
