My blocks backgrounds are solid prints, Deb's and Gail's are pieced backgrounds, and they haven't decided what will go around the outside of theirs yet. I love my blocks, so happy with how they turned out. I actually got 7 done, have probably 9 more to do, haven't decided for sure though. We'll get together again soon to start the appliqueing.

Myself and three friends went on a bit of a road trip last week so that we could check out the NS Fibre Arts Festival in Amherst, NS. We had a great time! Thanks to Karen for telling us about this festival. With Moncton being only 40 minutes away, we spent a few hours in two lovely quilt shops there. We spent Friday morning at two quilt shows in the town of Amherst, oh my, what lovely work. The town really puts on a great festival, with many of the stores and shops involved with lovely window displays. And we were so lucky to meet and get lots of good info on starting our guild from two ladies from the Amherst area who have been heavily involved in their own guild for years. We came home tired, but had made lots of fun memories and two new friends. Quilting trips are just the best!! I forgot my camera, but will try to get some pics from the other girls to share some of the beautiful quilts with you.

Thought I would share this quilt with you that I made last year. I enjoyed every minute that I spent working on this one with some new techniques that I'd not tried before. The quilt was designed by Country Creations from Alberta, Canada. I love that I was able to use alot of my scraps for it, but also enjoyed the search for lots of landscape fabrics.
This quilt is also for sale, if you happen to be interested email me for more info.

Oh my yes, I've tried lots of crafts over the years, but quilting will always be my favorite. I also love scrapbooking, dab in counted cross stitch occasionally and have tried a few other things, but I always go back to quilting.
I decided to start this blog so that I can share my love of quilting with others. I also sell alot of my quilts, so if you see one here that you have an interest in, please send me an email and I'll get back to you about pricing.
I'm currently working on a scrappy random hexagon quilt, or at least the center part of the quilt will be hexagons, then I'll add some applique and borders. I will post pictures of the work in progress later.
